Ravyn “Rei” Ark (she/they) is a creative soul to her core. They penned their first poem in middle school and drew their first drawing when they were a toddler. Creating is not only her go-to mode of self-expression, it’s also an invaluable tool for healing from past trauma and ultimately overcoming it.
Upon diving into the poetry scene over a decade ago, Rei became a featured reader at and host of various poetry readings. They also ran an independent press and poetry feature website for 10 years, publishing hundreds of poets within that time. To date, her poems have been published in numerous publications both online and in print (Women’s Spiritual Poetry, Mystic Living Today, Witches ‘n Pink, etc.) and she has authored several books under another pen name. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor’s degree (with honors) in Creative Writing in 2012.
In 2019, Ravyn launched Our Words Heard, an inclusive poetic community that amplifies poets’ voices worldwide by showcasing their poetry on social media. Two years later, she released her poetry and Zen philosophy book Nova Conscientia: poetic snippets of mindfulness (now available on Amazon). When they aren’t writing or reading poetry, they’re editing and critiquing it as a freelance poetry book editor. During her free time, she enjoys taking long walks in the forest, drawing, practicing mindfulness meditation, or spending quality time with her loved ones.
Above all, Rei is a multiply neurodivergent creator, mystic, mental health advocate, and abuse survivor with a lifelong vision to impart people with hope, healing, compassion, and an unshakable sense of empowerment.
